Students Ask To Rename School For Barack Obama

Out of the mouths of babes, as the old saying goes. Children see truth. They can look you in the eye and see exactly who you are. Put Obama and McCain in the same room and see which one the baby crawls to. The whole story is here, this is the gist of it.

A New York elementary school has been re-named in honor of President-elect Barack Obama. Ludlum Elementary School in Long Island's Hempstead Union Free School District was re-named at a board meeting Thursday, at the request of numerous school students.
Effective immediately, Ludlum will now be known as Barack Obama Elementary School, following a decision by the board to adopt the resolution drafted by students and staff. The board adopted the resolution by a vote of 5-0, re-naming the school immediately.

"The lesson in civics and democracy that these kids learned and even the process of coming before a public body and making a presentation, it was all child-oriented and that's what touched me," said an "enormously proud" Laria.

Barack Obama inspires by his example. On his long road to the White House he has consistently shown what one can do with will and determination. Just as he has inspired these very young people in Long Island he has energized people worldwide. One hundred thousand in St. Louis is an accomplishment but two hundred thousand in Berlin shows the depth of feeling among citizens of the world. In him they see Americans taking back their country from the evil bastards who have been shaming us with the greedy and perverted actions they have perpetrated in our name for the last 8 years. Now our children no longer see people burning American flags abroad. They see masses of people, many themselves denied basic rights, gathering in the streets to celebrate one mans accession to power in a land where racism was not only tolerated but written into law. It's not the end of racism here or in the world but its a hell of a good forward step. His charisma, intelligence, judgement and the enthusiasm he generates shows he will be a major leader in this century and will certainly inspire people worldwide for generations to come.

Obama, a name for the history books.
